Shelia Petersen

I often get asked why I promote other artists. Isn’t it competition? Honestly, it’s a complicated answer. I do feel intimidated by other artists sometimes, but I’m learning to face my fears and recognize my own value. Art is unique and meant to be enjoyed, and I genuinely want to support and lift up other artists.

Sheila Petersen’s work is one I greatly admire. We worked together several years ago, and I was blown away when I discovered she was an artist. Her work is stunning!

Her art is also about energy. As she puts it: “Energy we take in, change, and send back out into the world around us. It changes us, we change it. We must be aware of our vulnerability, impact, and ability.”

When I asked Sheila which pieces she wanted me to highlight, she left it up to me – which was not easy! I love all her work. But here are some of my favorites.

You can see more of Sheila’s work on Instagram and some of her work is on display at Olio Vintage in Northeast Minneapolis.

Seriously, check her out!
