There are several teachers I greatly admire; one is Thich Nhat Hanh. After listening to his book, “Peace is Every Step,” and now “The Art of Living,” I drew inspiration from his quote: “Enlightenment is when the wave realizes that it is the ocean.” This profound quote inspired my painting, “Wave of Emotion” and ultimately, sparked the launch of my business.
Originally, I wanted to incorporate these beautiful words into my painting. Then I wondered if others would find this meaningful? I considered creating prints to share this message more widely.
Wanting to respect intellectual property, I reached out to Thich Nhat Hanh’s foundation for permission to use his quotes. They sent a lovely response and introduced me to the publication company that manages Thich Nhat Hanh’s content. I hesitated to invest heavily without knowing if the products based on my paintings would find an audience. So I began searching for public domain quotes that could be used freely to complement my artwork.
I then designed my first card with the message, “When the wave of emotions arrive, so will I,” which allows the giver write words or action of support to their loved one.
When I wrote down the message, I realized my calling: crafting unique cards and gifts designed to offer peace and comfort to others. Motivated by this vision, I gathered several of my paintings and started, Cards of Comfort.
I knew I eventually wanted to include my energy practice as part of my business and Energetic Expressions was born. Combining my passion for loving energy and artwork.
