I’ve always been fascinated by clouds—there’s something about looking up and watching the clouds shift and form shapes that instantly calms me. It’s like a quiet reminder that life is always moving, always changing. When I’m feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, I’ll often just sit and watch the clouds float by. It’s one of the simplest ways I reconnect with a sense of wonder, and honestly… it reaffirms my faith in miracles.

I have a lot of cloud photos on my phone—like, a lot. One afternoon, while stopped at a light I looked up and saw something that had me gasp. The clouds had formed what looked like a glowing angel hovering gently in the sky. It wasn’t just beautiful—it gave me this deep sense of peace and comfort, like a quiet reminder that maybe, just maybe, we’re being looked after more than we realize. I asked my daughter to quickly take a picture of it.

That image stayed with me, and eventually, it became the inspiration behind my painting Heavenly Guardian. I never intended to paint another cloud or angel; I simply followed the feeling. Sometimes, that’s how the most meaningful pieces come through—when I stop thinking and just trust what I’m being led to create.

One of my favorite parts of sharing this piece has been hearing the stories and impressions others see in it. Some see an angel, others see a loved one watching over them, and some feel an energy they can’t quite describe—but it resonates. I love that. I love how one image can spark so many personal reflections.

My hope is that Heavenly Guardian offers the same quiet reassurance to you as it did to me—that in those quiet moments of stillness, we’re never really alone
