Energy of Becoming
Embracing change is the first step toward becoming.
We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. ~ Maya Angelou
This quote by Dr. Maya Angelou, is part of what inspired my painting of a butterfly. This piece captures the unseen energy of transformation—the strength, resilience, and quiet persistence required for growth.
Through layered contrasting colors and fluid movement, it reflects the journey from struggle to beauty, celebrating the often-hidden stages of becoming.
Here’s the thing… obstacles still present itself during the life of these beautiful creatures. When storms appear, butterflies need to take care in order to survive, but as soon as the sun returns, it is back dancing around the gardens.
We can learn a lot from these tiny creatures.
Life’s storms are inevitable. And you need to learn when to hit pause and rest during these rough patches. It’s not just self-care; it’s survival.
My hope is this painting reminds you to rest during the storms of life.
Without change, there would be no butterflies
